General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), declared on Saturday that he was determined to "preserve and further solidify" the bond between the people and the armed forces through the "selfless performance" of constitutional duties in addition to defeating Pakistan's enemies' attempts to "drive a wedge" between them.

"Remember, people are central to the unity of the state. Our future, as well as progress, depends on internal cohesion, democracy, and constitutionalism," the army chief remarked while speaking at the Pakistan Military Academy's passing out parade in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Kakul.

"Our enemies are determined to create a rift between our people and the military in order to forward their own agendas. We shall make sure that this link is maintained and strengthened even further by performing the tasks that have been delegated to us in accordance with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan's Constitution.

He stated that the adversaries may attempt to sow discord and mistrust between the civilian population and the military, but the Pakistani armed forces were resolved to take all necessary precautions to confront both internal and external threats.

Concern over the growing use of information warfare within and outside of Pakistan's frontiers was stated by COAS Munir.

Although organised terrorism had been defeated as an existential threat to the nation, the scourge still posed a serious threat to society, according to him. The army chief promised to thwart any attempts to foment instability or terrorism and said that there was no tolerance for spoilers of Pakistan's grand endeavour.

The Army "won't ever shirk from sacrifices"

The COAS stressed that the nation's military sought to lessen both present and upcoming obstacles. He issued a warning to Pakistan's opponents, both inside and outside the country, saying that the country's armed forces would never back down from making sacrifices to stabilise, secure, and protect future generations.

The COAS emphasised that the army upheld the founding fathers' ideal of eliminating distinctions based on geography, caste, colour, creed, or gender. He stressed that Pakistan's worldview was founded on Islamic ideals and the timeless principles of discipline, faith, and solidarity.

The military "stands resolute to mitigate the challenges of today and tomorrow," he claimed.

Pakistan affirms its commitment to peaceful coexistence with everybody.

According to Gen. Munir, Pakistan fully believes in living in harmony with all other countries, especially its neighbours. He expressed gratitude for recent regional engagement efforts and peace measures and hoped that they would have a good effect on the current state of peace.

The army chief emphasised how crucial it is to preserve Pakistan's geographical integrity. "We are all aware of the methods to safeguard our sovereignty.

I pledge to Pakistan's people that we will always be prepared and never hesitate to make any sacrifice necessary to protect our cherished homeland, he continued.

According to the army chief, Afghanistan's peace, security, and stability are intrinsically connected to Pakistan's stability. He asserted that Pakistan's continued support for peace negotiations was evidence of its dedication to a peaceful, prosperous, and economically linked region.

He stressed that no other nation had been as welcoming to its neighbours as Pakistan, emphasising that over the course of four decades, Pakistan had taken in almost 5 million refugees.

According to Gen. Munir, Pakistan has made tremendous sacrifices in terms of blood, sweat, and wealth and is sincerely working to bring about long-term stability in Afghanistan.
